I pray that everyone had a wonderful Christmas! On Sunday we got hit with about 32 inches of snow, and we weren’t able to visit with family as planned. The snow began to fall as soon as our church service started, and the roads were slippery by the time it ended.

Well, here are some great things happening in the Personal Finance world!

Yakezie:

The Yakezie Network includes some of the top personal finance blogs around! There are a number of great scholarship essays up on the site, so be sure to head over and vote on them!

A special thanks to everyone who has helped to drop my Alexa ranking to 49,334 (as of Monday 12/27/10)! I wasn’t able to reach my goal to get under 50k by Christmas, but I hit it the very next day! Hopefully, the number will continue to go down, although, I don’t plan to monitor it as often. Just install the Alexa toolbar and visit my site often (might as well make it your home page ;-) ), if you want to help drive it down!

On to My Favorite Articles From the Past Week:

The Garbage Filter gives us some creative ways to get into debt!

The Millionaire Nurse talks about student loan repayment for nurses. I know of a few nurses and prospective nurses that will find this very useful.

The Wealth Artisan writes about car insurance risk and reward.

Kris @ Everyday Tips and Thoughts tells us what she learned from a pair of socks!

Finance Your Life performs a comparison of Facebook vs Twitter.

Mike @ Saving Money Today tells us why our taxes are so high here in New Jersey! The instance of government waste that he describes is amazing!

Tim @ Faith and Finance tells us how he paid for Christmas with side jobs!

Paul @ Provident Planning continues his Personal Finance Bible Study with, “Work (Part 11 of 15) – Be Fair & Just to All“.

Wow, 32 inches of snow, that is amazing. I live in Michigan and I think the greatest snowfall I remember is 22 inches or so. Sorry you didn’t get to spend time with your family, I am sure it was disappointing.

Thanks for the link Khaleef!

By the way, do you use a plugin for your facebook fan page in the left column? If so, which one?

It was crazy out here! A few inches fell while we were in church, and it was so slippery! It was disappointing to miss out on seeing my family, but we may do something this weekend to make up for it.

Yikes a lot of snow. I hope you had a good Christmas despite not getting to family!

Yeah, it was crazy out here! We still had a great time in church and with each other afterward, so it wasn’t too bad.
