Post image for Roundup for the Week of 09.26.10 – Education Edition

It’s time for another roundup of great articles from the previous week! I noticed as I put this list together, that many of the articles talk about college education or teaching kids in general.

Seems like a lot of writers had the topic of education on their mind!

Also, don’t forget to check out the Yakezie network. This is a network that includes some of the best personal finance blogs around!

A special thanks to everyone who has helped to drop my Alexa ranking down under 100,000! Now my new goal is  to get under 75k. Just install the Alexa toolbar and visit my site often (might as well make it your home page ;-) ), if you want to help!

Okay, on to my favorite articles of the past week:

Funny about Money writes about the current and future state of higher education in Arizona. Not a pretty picture!

Roshawn Watson @ Watson Inc wrote a guest post on Generation X Finance about the educated indentured servent. Thinking about going to college or sending your kids? Then this is a must-read!

Flexo @ Consumerism Commentary writes about Newark public schools receiving $100 million. Go over and voice your opinion about the founder of Facebook donation a small fortune to Newark.

Danny Kofke wrote a post for One Money Design exploring ways to teach kids how to give, save, and spend money. How/when to teach kids about money is something that every parent needs to consider.

Craig @ Free From Broke asks, “Does your kid deserve a credit card?“. My answer is “yes with supervision”. Go over and leave a comment explaining your view.

Roshawn Watson also wonders if competent kids need an inheritance. This is a great question that lead to an interesting discussion.

Funny about Money also tells us not to test-drive a car if we want to buy it. Shocking advice that makes a lot of sense!

Charles @ Money Green Life suggests figuring your effective monthly car payment. This will help you to compare options such as leasing, or whether you should fix or replace your current vehicle.

Jason @ Live Real, Now gives three reasons why you hate your budget. If you are struggling with starting or following a budget, read this.

Darwin’s Money writes about ATMs that sell gold bars. Does this indicate a bubble in gold? Go over and state your case!

Kris @ Everyday Tips and Thoughts discusses how to allocate a second income. Great article with a lot of great comments!

Kevin @ Invest it Wisely asks if the police are really seeking public safety or public revenue. I could go on about this subject forever, so just go over and read this excellent rant post!

Jill @ My Dollar Plan writes about financial management for newlyweds. Even if you’re not a rookie when it comes to being married, you can learn something from this article.

Jackie @ Money Crush warns us to not let a rule of thumb rule our wallet. Great instruction regarding following financial “rules” and conventional wisdom.

Money Aisle wrote a guest post for Redeeming Riches discussion the option of auto loan financing.

Miranda Marquit writes a guest post for Personal Dividends listing financial tasks for October.

Also, take a few minutes to read my latest post on Redeeming Riches entitled, “How to Honor God in the Workplace – Instructions for Workers“.
