A few weeks ago I came across a post asking and answering a few questions about money. I thought it was a good idea to answer these questions each week and to track the changes. However, I got sidetracked and forgot all about it.
Then I cam across this article by Out of Debt Again answering the same questions. Mrs. Accountability was inspired by a post on Budgets Are Sexy, where J. Money answered these same questions. I guess a few writers thought this was a great idea!
Anyway, thanks to J. Money, I was lead back to My Pretty Pennies where I had first seen this post!
The idea is that you list five questions about money and answer them each week. The first four questions stay the same, and the fifth one changes each week.
I think it will be fun for us to look back over time and see how our answers have changed!
1. The most I’ve spent this last week was on _____.
A food processor from Amazon. Hopefully, this will help us to make more meals from scratch!
2. Today I feel _______towards money.
Excited – last week I received a bunch of free samples, and then a check came in a lot earlier than expected!
3. Money can’t buy happiness. One free/inexpensive thing I did last week that made me happy was_____________.
Hung out with a couple of old friends the other night at their house!
4. I will consider this week a success if I _____________.
Fix a few bugs on the site, write a few articles ahead of time, and spend quality time with my wife!
5. My first job was ____________________.
I went door-to-door with a friend trying to convince people to have their roofs fixed!
So, there you have it! I plan to answer these questions once a week (changing the 5th one), and I hope you’ll join me.
Please answer these questions in the comments, and discuss each other’s answers. I also want to hear your feedback about my answers.
Here are the questions without my answers, so you can copy them:
1. The most I’ve spent this last week was on _____.
2. Today I feel _______towards money.
3. Money can’t buy happiness. One free/inexpensive thing I did last week that made me happy was_____________.
4. I will consider this week a success if I _____________.
5. My first job was ____________________.

Thanks for mentioning my post about how I feel about money. 🙂 I don’t know why I didn’t see this linked back to my site – I just ran across it when I saw that you had included me in your weekly roundup last Sunday and I just saw that this morning! Anyway, thanks! What kind of food processor did you buy? Will you do a review on it eventually once you figure out how helpful it will be?
It was a Braun model, and we haven’t been able to use it yet – but plan to this week. I hadn’t thought of writing a review, but that’s a great idea – so…yes I will. 😉
I saw thes Q’s on Out of Debt Again too! I like the idea of completing these questions however weekly seems a little too often for me. I was thinking maybe more like monthly!
Have a great day!
Yeah, if I see myself repeating the same answers or struggling, I’ll stretch out the time. I think it’s a good idea to have a record like this.
1. The most I’ve spent this last week was on _____ bought a book “The girl with the dragon tattoo” for my wife.
2. Today I feel ___neutral____towards money.
3. Money can’t buy happiness. One free/inexpensive thing I did last week that made me happy was_____Played trouble with my 6 year old daughter!
4. I will consider this week a success if I _________Get my stupid twitter icon lined up on my blog!!!
5. My first job was ____________a Bagboy in a grocery store (yep, and it was as bad as it sounds!)
I’ve always felt sorry for those bag boys. I guess you’re telling me that I was right to feel that way?
I can see you being a door-to-door salesmen, I bet you were good at it! I did it for like 2 days and wanted to punch myself in the face 😉 I like working with people but man Sales is not for me.
I did it with a friend and we hated it. I think we only lasted for a week or two and then we quit! Then a couple of years later I did it again with a different product. I’m so glad I went back to college!
