How we got paid over $25 to shop!
So, here we are again after a couple of great CVS trips! We did our shopping over two days this week (you’ll see why in a minute), and we checked out a total of nine times! Since I don’t want to take pictures of, and post, nine receipts, I’ll just give you the totals.
Purchase #1:
Total Value – $84.67
Savings from weekly deals – $(33.17)
Manufacturer & CVS coupons – $(33.03)
Extra Care Bucks – $(9.00)
Total Savings – $75.20 (89%)
Subtotal – $6.23
Tax – $3.24
Total Paid – $9.47
The highlight of this checkout was 24 bottles of Sobe Lifewater. They retail for $1.69 and CVS had a B1G1 sale (buy one get one free), we also had 12 B1G1 coupons from Sobe (click here and play the game to get yours). So, that means that we got all 24 bottles of Sobe for FREE – we only had to pay tax!!!

Extra Care Bucks – $(16.99)
Total Savings – $75.20 (98%)
Subtotal – $0.10

I would have to say that the highlight of this checkout is the fact that we saved 98%, and only paid $0.10 before taxes for all of this food. This included toothpaste, peanut butter, Ragu, and other great stuff.
Purchase #3
Total Value – $3.23
Savings from weekly deals – $(1.13)
Manufacturer & CVS coupons – $(1.50)
Extra Care Bucks – $(0)
Total Savings – $2.63 (81%)
Subtotal – $0.53

Nothing special about this order, we were just using a few CVS coupons from their in-store kiosk to buy items that were already on sale.

Purchase #4
Total Value – $30.40
Savings from weekly deals – $(5.63)
Manufacturer & CVS coupons – $(14.98)
Extra Care Bucks – $(8.99)
Total Savings – $29.60 (97%)
Subtotal – $(0.49)
Tax – $1.29
Total Paid – $0.80
This was a great purchase for us. Included in this order was 4 bottles of Head & Shoulders shampoo, Altoids, a couple of folders and candy bars. For all of this we earned a credit (meaning CVS owed us money!) before taxes!
Purchase #5
Total Value – $11.74
Subtotal – $(10.97)
Tax – $0.77
Total Paid – $11.74
Keep moving, nothing to see here! Well, we did pay for this purchase using our flexible spending account.

Purchase #6
Total Value – $49.13
Savings from weekly deals – $(12.29)
Manufacturer & CVS coupons – $(12.00)
Extra Care Bucks – $(0)
Total Savings – $24.29 (49%)
Subtotal – $(24.44)
Tax – $0.40
Total Paid – $24.84
Again, we took advantage of more great deals on medical supplies using our flexible spending account.
Purchase #7
Total Value – $13.69
Savings from weekly deals – $(3.00)
Manufacturer & CVS coupons – $(4.00)
Extra Care Bucks – $(5.00)
Total Savings – $12.00 (88%)
Subtotal – $(0.99)
Tax – $0.70
Total Paid – $1.69
We wanted to purchase an expensive Gillette Fusion Proglide razor because it came with 5 ECBs back, and we had a $4 coupon. However, they were out – so we asked for a raincheck. Fortunately, they actually had more in the back and so we had to make a separate purchase. So, we paid with our coupon and 5 ECBs from a previous purchase.
Purchase #8
Total Value – $3.23
Savings from weekly deals – $(1.13)
Manufacturer & CVS coupons – $(1.50)
Extra Care Bucks – $(0)
Total Savings – $2.63 (81%)
Subtotal – $(0.53)
Tax – $0.07
Total Paid – $0.60
More coupons from the in-store kiosk…I guess CVS really wants us to collect folders and candy bars!

Purchase #9

Extra Care Bucks – $(8.99)
Total Savings – $25.28 (91%)
Subtotal – $(1.80)

Total Paid – $2.51
More Altoids, toothpaste, candy bars, and other items!

Even though we checked out nine times, it didn’t take too long at all. We checked out separately and we had everything separated in the cart while we shopped. In case you can’t tell from the picture, here is the rundown of everything that we purchased:
24 Sobe Lifewater
5 Colgate Total
1 Crest w/Scope toothpaste
1 Oral-B toothbrush
2 Adhesive pads w/Neosporin
1 Box of Band-aids
1 Johnson & Johnson waterproof tape
2 Bottles of Melatonin
2 Dawn Ultra
3 Altoids
4 Head & Shoulders
2 Crest Pro Health Mouthwash
2 Jars of Skippy
4 Jars of Ragu
2 Boxes of Thermacare Heat pads
1 J&J First Aid travel kit
2 Gillette Fusion Proglide razors
1 Neosporin Spray
1 Boost 6pk
16 Dove Chocolate bars
16 Caliber folders
Here is the total damage:
Total Value – $204.01
Savings from weekly deals – $(70.51)
Manufacturer & CVS coupons – $(68.06)
Extra Care Bucks Spent – $(48.97)
Total Savings – $187.54 (92%)
Subtotal – $(9.69)
Tax – $6.78
Total Paid – $16.47
Also, I must add that we earned 42 ECBs as well. That means that CVS paid us $25.53 to shop this week! This isn’t the first time that’s happened. If it wasn’t for tax, we would have spent less than $10 for everything!
The best way to get these results (or better) is to combine CVS coupons, manufacturer coupons – using our Coupon Database, ECBs, and the weekly deals.
Are there any great deals that you have recently taken advantage of? Do you have any questions on using coupons at CVS? Any tips that you can share with our readers?
