This diet calls for some pricey food purchases, and I’ve found myself hesitant to buy things on the grocery list because of the cost. This has actually been a good thing, because, in a nutshell, my thoughts can be so irrational.
When we spend $30 out for a meal “unexpectedly”, I won’t even blink. 😈 This has been one of our biggest missteps, and it could happen a few times a week – especially if I am not well enough to cook.
That $30 is no big deal at Moe’s or Houlihan’s, but attach it to some quality salmon, and I am outraged!
It reminds me of a documentary we watched where a heart surgeon commented that people consider a vegetarian diet extreme, but not a surgery where their chest is cracked open and a vein is taken from their leg and placed in the heart.
I don’t want to be that person. I’ll pay for the organic chicken, salmon, and whatever else. It is more valuable than eating out, and certainly if it helps me get healthier!
