In case you missed it!

In reviewing my site stats for the month of June, I realized that I received quite a spike in traffic (almost triple the amount of visits from May)! So I decided to take a look at the most visited articles from the site.

I guess if I did this backwards, I could have you imagine a drum-roll or something to announce the #1 article, but I won’t subject you to that.

Here is the list in descending order based on page views:

Why you must keep at least $500 in your checking account – Just like the title says, we looked at why you need to have (at least) a $500 buffer or cushion in your checking account.

Why you need a budget – Many people think they don’t need to have a budget, either because they don’t make enough money to spread around or they make more than enough to cover their bills and expenses. We take a look at why you still need a budget even if those things are true!

How to enjoy a hot day on a budget – Since we suffered a couple of massive (at least to me) heatwaves in the Northeast so far this summer, I posted a few great ways to enjoy a hot day without breaking the bank. I also asked readers to give their tips as well.

Why do we pay tips for certain services? – Although this wasn’t the most popular article in terms of page views, I actually received a lot of great remarks and compliments from people in person and via email stating that this was my best article…you be the judge. I also had a couple of excellent comments on the article, so be sure to join in the discussion.

What to look for when choosing a career – Is it better to strive for the highest paycheck, or should you just follow your passions and let the money take care of itself? Is it possible to do both? These are some of the questions that we looked at in this article, and then invited the readers to weigh in!

Tanning tax goes into effect July 1 – Despite John McCain and Snookie being against it, the tanning tax went into effect a few days ago. Read the details in this article.

Should I cosign for a loan? – We took a look at what the bible teaches about cosigning. There were a lot of comments, so be sure to read them and then add your own!

What does the Old Testament teach about tithing? – Although written in early May, this continued to be a popular article. Most people are taught that paying tithes is something they should do, but they usually aren’t taught what the bible actually says about it. Read this (and the related articles at the bottom of that post) article to find out the truth about this controversial subject – and then leave your questions and comments.

Buy one get one free at Famous Dave’s! – This is a chance for you to get a free meal at Famous Dave’s! I just checked and this promotion is still going on, so please take advantage of it if you didn’t already.

How can I be satisfied in every situation? – Here we looked at the idea of contentment from God’s word, and how it should be the theme of our life. Then we discussed a few practical keys to contentment in this follow-up article.

Since those represent the top 10 articles, I guess these next few will just be “honorable mentions”:

What does the New Testament teach about tithing? – Part of an ongoing series on giving. It is important for Christians to understand God’s will regarding giving, and part of that means understanding what tithing is and isn’t!

Honor the Lord with your finances – This is one of the first non-tax articles ever written on this site. Here we look at how to obey the bible’s command to “honor the Lord with your wealth”.

Can you eat well for $1 a day? – I found this amazing challenge at another blog. A guy has managed to eat well for less than $1 a day for the last two months, and also has donated a lot of food to his local food bank! This was the inspiration for me to try to become a “super shopper“!

Well, that’s it! Thanks to everyone who read the articles, left comments, sent emails, and even shared their comments/suggestions in person!

Be sure to have a wonderful holiday!
